Signs you're seeing this

Start with the two-minute checks
Before anything else, confirm the thermostat is set to COOL, not HEAT or just FAN, and that the setpoint is actually below room temperature. Then check your breaker panel. A Florida AC has two circuits, one for the indoor air handler and one for the outdoor condenser, and if only the condenser breaker trips, the indoor fan keeps blowing uncooled air that feels warm. Reset a tripped breaker once. If it trips straight back, stop and call, because a breaker that will not hold is protecting you from an electrical fault.
If the checks pass, it is inside the system
With the thermostat and breakers ruled out, warm air comes down to a few things. A frozen evaporator coil blocks airflow and blows warm, common in our humidity. Low refrigerant from a leak leaves nothing to absorb the heat. A failed capacitor or contactor stops the outdoor compressor from running while the indoor fan carries on. Each of these looks identical from the vent, and telling them apart takes gauges and a meter, not guesswork.
